INCLIMENT WEATHER
PYSA recognizes that with soccer being an outdoor sport, scheduled events may be affected by inclement weather. Should lightning be sighted or thunder heard at the fields the fields WILL be immediately CLOSED and CLEARED until neither lighting is seen or thunder is heard for 30 minutes. During this time all at the fields are required to seek shelter in a vehicle or under the concession stand. Should it become necessary to cancel/postpone a match, that decision will be made by Ken Deal (SAY Representative), Nick Davidson, or Ryan Collins (Co-Referee Coordinators). Non-SAY matches that are delayed once a match starts on a weekday will normally not be resumed the same day with the remainder of the match subject to rescheduling. All effort will be made for delayed SAY games to be played to the point of becoming official. For all ages, a match is considered official at the conclusion of 2 full quarters. The 3rd quarter does not have to begin for a match to be considered complete.
Fundraiser
To keep player's registration fees as low as possible, PYSA holds an annual fundraiser where all players having not bought out of the the fundraiser must sell a designated amount of product. Money from the sale of this product is to be turned in to a designated league representative by the date determined annually (and published in the association calendar) by PYSA. Any player having not turned in their money will be ineligible to play in matches for his/her team until the money is turned in. Only 2 players per family are required to participate in the fundraiser. Preschool players are not required to participate in the fundraiser.
PYSA Code of Conduct
1. I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.
2. I will inform the coach of any physical disability or ailment that may affect the safety of my child or the safety of others.
3. I will learn the rules of the game and the policies of the PYSA. Available at www.piquayouthsoccer.com.
4. I (and my guests) will not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.
5. I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the athletes.
6. I will teach my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence.
7. I will demand that my child treat other players, coaches, officials and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
8. I will teach my child that doing one's best is more important than winning, so that my child will never feel defeated by the outcome of a game or his/her performance.
9. I will praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard, and make my child feel like a winner every time.
10. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participant for making a mistake or losing a competition.
11. I will emphasize skill development and practices and how they benefit my child over winning.
12. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
13. I will respect the officials and their authority during games and will never question, discuss, or confront coaches at the game field, and will take time to speak at an agreed upon time and place.
14. I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol and I will refrain from their use at all sports events.
15. I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during games and practices, unless I am one of the official coaches of the team.
I also agree that if I fail to abide by the rules and guidelines of PYSA, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, but is not limited to the following:
1. Verbal warning by official, head coach, and / or any board member.
2. Parental game suspension with written documentation of incident kept on file by PYSA.
3. Game forfeit through the official or coach.
4. Parental season suspension.
